Today, Airbnb released the following statement:
“Airbnb strongly condemns last week’s attack on the US Capitol and the efforts to undermine our democratic process. We will continue to uphold our community policies by banning violent hate group members when we learn of such memberships, and the Airbnb PAC will update its framework and withhold support from those who voted against the certification of the presidential election results.”

You don’t make the rules here. Your opinion, regardless of how many times you repeat it, is nothing more than an opinion. And the other commenters on this thread—along with the moderators—don’t agree with you.

A bunch of the rioters were identified, put on a no-fly list and booted off their flights home from DC or prevented from boarding. Heard them crying, whining and complaining on some videos, as well as other passengers saying “get off the plane” as they were being led away by flight staff.

I appreciate that people are upset but the longer this thread goes on the farther into an exchange of insults and threats, and less a discussion of political events, it becomes.
We’ve been in this territory before and it usually ends in a thread getting shut down and someone kicked off the forum. I fully understand that shutting down the thread is the objective of the troll but I’d appreciate it if everyone would stop letting themselves be provoked.

We aren’t shutting down the thread. Posts with name calling are being removed. If you’d like this thread to die consider this: every time you respond to it it bumps to the top of the list and more people see it.

Apparently, you just don’t get it. You are a guest. A “mere member” - like 99% of us. You do not get to tell anyone here what “is appropriate for this forum”, especially not the moderators - who have been VERY patient and understanding with your continued behavior. Again, it is NOT YOUR FORUM. You don’t get to set or enforce any rules on others.
Feel lucky - on many forums, you would have been suspended or banned already.
Just do everyone a favor, as not one person agrees with you, and just go back to lurking.

You are free to NOT read the comment string, Karen. Don’t like the program on TV, then change the channel… don’t like the song on the radio, turn it off… don’t like the conversation, then move on… You DON’T have the right to tell people what they can and cannot talk about. We are all still waiting for you to show us where it says we cannot talk about what is going on in the world and how is affecting our businesses and our lives and how we feel about that!

I means she hasn’t posted. We can see how many topics and posts someone has read but not which ones and when. Anyone can get a general idea of how active someone is.
On a more positive note:
Nancy is my hero. What a role model for women (and men) everywhere. I don’t want to think where this country would be had she not been around the last four years.
Her courage and strength standing up (to a bully) when ‘All the presidents’ men’ cowered in the background.

The only hate and outrage posted here is from you. And when someone builds a gallows in front of the Capitol and groups of armed men are roaming our sacred citadel of democracy seeking elected officials so they can murder them, it not a “single event protest”. It’s an insurrection and a riot.
If you support that kind of behavior, or are not concerned about it, you have NO business either hosting or telling the rest of us what we can discuss on this forum that you do not own and do not control.

Oh geez are we really serious talking about this post, the BLM protest lasted 7 months way more people injured and killed and a lot more business and property were damaged or burned to the ground. So they went into the capitol building a building and scared a few people some people got hurt and some unfortunately got killed. Do I agree with them going in not really but they didn’t burn down businesses and it only lasted a few hours. Don’t think they are as dangerous as the media is making them seem to be.
Time to lock this thread?
