This is an interesting observation:
This cop not only did his job, he did it with incredible bravery and finesse.
It is interesting but to me it doesnât matter if you are a Christian evangelist, a country club Republican, or an out, and out MACA member.
If you believe itâs acceptable to take up arms against your country and attack the very heart of your democracy you are a domestic terrorist.
Definition of Irony:
When a non-participating lurker who adds zero value decides they are entitled to dictate to participating members what they are allowed to do, without regard for actual forum policies.
Pul-lease just go back to lurking, Participating really is not your jam.
Again, this is not a forum for your political views. It makes you look crazy and fanatical.
Oh yes, start name calling. You forgot to use white supremacist.
Maybe you need to take a look at the thread again and see all the hate filled political posts. They are not from me but from others. I simply stated that this is not a forum for such a thing. There is enough hate filled political blather going around on other posts. Now if there was a coup in Ghana and hosts were being affected I could see posting something about it. A single event protest on the capitol is not the same thing.
An attempt to keep a leader in power, refusing to concede, and inciting a mob to âmarch to the Capitol, and show strengthâ resulting in five deaths, is a coup.
You really seem invested in promoting this point so let me try to explain another way. BTW, Iâm not really explaining to you as you arenât going to change. Iâm explaining for the benefit of any lurkers who might be wondering if you have a legitimate point.
Iâve been on this forum six years. It has had political content that entire time. It has had a variety of other content that, strictly speaking, was only tangential to hosting. People are political animals. Almost everything has a political angle whether you realize it or not. But even if Airbnb hosting wasnât political we would still allow posts on politics. There have been a few times when the owner of the forum, Tom, has had to get involved. During that time we have never been directed to stop allowing political content.
Youâve stated multiple times that you object to the content of the thread, not that itâs political. So now you are just trolling. On that basis you may find that we moderators will step in and remove some posts.
I donât know on what basis you continue to think you are the arbiter of what content is allowed here but if anyone looks crazy and fanatical, itâs you.
You might consider this
That was the point of the article @Helsi. Did you read it? The writer was pointing out that many of the protesters werenât Maga hat wearing yahoos, they looked quite respectable, yet they didnât voice any objections to the anti-semitic, white supremacist gear being worn or waved about.
The writerâs point was exactly what you said, they are all of the same mentality, whether they are actively breaking down doors or simply standing around being complicit.
Yes I did. @muddy
I was emphasising this point for the benefit of some others posting
Just worked out one Airbnb host I wonât be staying with, if I ever decide to head westâŠ

In Holocaust studies the actors are generally broken down along a spectrum:
perpetrators
collaborators
bystanders
resistors
rescuers
We arenât 1930âs Germany and while Trumpâs crimes pale in comparison to Hitlerâs, many of the impulses are the same. Had he won a second term itâs not difficult for historians to imagine our nation becoming more and more like Germany. Plenty has been written about the role of the bystanders and those who benefited from Nazi policies. Hitlerâs Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust, Daniel Goldhagen is a good, readable book about what can happen when you let racism lead a nation down the rabbit hole.
Albeit outed as an antisemitist (by his own admission) in the early sixties, his prose is still as valid now as it was then:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

One of the collabotraitors on twitter was arguing that a truck bomb was set to go off at a location where many of them were congregating in DC. This, she argued, meant it wasnât put there by a right winger. Clearly she has no clue who the victim list includes in a violent revolution.
If I were hosting in a USA state capital city, I would consider closing until after 1/20.
The item below is from josh Margolin, an ABC investigative reporter
Any host who does host someone they suspect of participating in the terrorist activities should keep any evidence (not just a feeling) they have and report the guests to Airbnb and the FBI. I feel for anyone who needs to travel to DC at this time on legitimate business. You canât even get a flight without being exposed to potential covid breathers and collabotraitors.
Topics like this just make me even more grateful to be hosting in our sleepy little corner of south west Spain.
Biggest issue we tend to have is blood/semen/shit/vomit/wine/cosmetics stains on our bed linen.
Happy days, eh?

(Or should we all stop responding because this is giving meaning to Wâs life in the form of dopamine hits from getting replies?)
