Legal Weed & Airbnb

Legal = NOT A DRUG ANYMORE!!
Alcohol is soooooo much worse. Please educate yourselves on how to approach this topic because if ur in a medical state you can request to see Doctors Rec on paper. Card = bullshit.

Most of those who use as medicinal purposes respect the fact we are not at home. Plus smoking has gone down & vaping has increased so no excuse to only smoke (combust) Cannabis.

Sounds like there’s not a lot of education around what Legalization vs Medical
Federal Vs State.
Each STATE HAS OWN LAWS!!!

I’m registered in CA for CA STATE ONLY medical. So why would I bring to Australia?
Also vapes cannot be detected by dogs etc. it’s technically illegal to fly across state lines with pot. Buttttt so is alcohol.

Also CBD ONLY CAN BE CONSUMED ANYWHERE!!!
If you do not know what this means & why educate yourself.

Some ppl rather NOT GET hooked on pharmaceuticals that cause major addiction & even death.

Compassion is nice.

I do not speak for your stereotypical stoner.
-Rather soccer moms who take their kids Adderall & need something to take the edge off. (JOKING)

Yes… my next vacation I’m going to North Korea with pounds of weed.

Seattle is legal - which is TOTALLY diff than medical states.

@Nads415, mate, I think you need to lay off the caffeine or whatever.

Also, just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s not a drug.

drug
drʌɔ/
noun
1.
a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
ā€œa new drug aimed at sufferers from Parkinson’s diseaseā€

Heather, are you from Australia? I have always really liked the way Australians address other people with ā€˜mate’; after such a friendly greeting, it is hard to argue with them no matter what they say. :sunglasses:

I live in Australia but I’m originally from Boston (with a stint in London).

@mearns ā€˜mate’ isn’t always a friendly greeting and is nuanced depending on the context. The Aussies and the English use it the same way; in this context it’s actually more of a derisive salutation. ā€˜Whatever, mate’ is something you’d easily say to someone you actually feel dismissive/ hostile towards …

As you know the English have perfected the art of saying one thing while meaning something else …which is probably how we get away with being quite rude sometimes

Hahaha. Well comes across friendly to me, intrigue or no intrigue.

Lol @Ash953 ok ok! I will keep quiet next time

It’s actually pretty rare for girls to use mate in England … is it less gendered in oz ?

Denver, Colorado host here our listing clearly states our rules regarding smoking weed.

ā€œWe are 420 friendly, a few dispensaries within walking distance - try The Giving Tree. Please smoke on the front porch.ā€

We are very aware of accommodating most people, that includes individuals that are coming to smoke and enjoy the legals of our state! That said, we also understand people have allergies as well.

My main point to guests is that ā€œwe encourage you to do with your vacation as you will, however you’d like to spend your time is 100% on you… that said, others will be staying in the room after you leave and we don’t want smoke to linger and irritate other guests in the future.ā€

That tends to keep people smoking outside. I’m sure a few have broken the rules, but it has not been an issue.

I’m in Cali as well. Weed is awesome. I’m happy for people.

BUT the federal government is not down with weed, so I can’t allow it and that’s what I tell people.

Incidentally, if you’re pro-weed, you may want to note that the new US attorney general is dead set against weed. It’ll be pretty interesting to see what he does.

Posh women don’t use the term in their vernacular. However, I work in a male-dominated industry, so the use of the word comes in handy - both to deliver a message as well as for humorous effect.

Yes I can imagine it being quite effective at putting someone in their place. I used to be a chef where I learned a very blunt communication style peppered with very salty language. When I moved into higher education it was a very difficult transition of obvious reasons

I don’t care what you call me… but ā€œlay off the caffineā€ is a condecending and unneccsary.
I wasn’t even discussing international laws and I wasn’t really relevent to this convo.

I also have a unique location that is in the heart of SAN FRANCISCO (home of airbnb) and 99% of my guests (i am on site) I rarely interact with them.

They are here for:
Tech Conferences
Tech workers : If google and facebook did drug tests for marijuana hahah the system would collapse.
Work Meetings
I do get the occasional tourist but they are aware I’m really hands off.

It’s shocking to see how super accomodating you guys are and bend over backwards like hotels or bed and breakfasts.

I’ll forward this along to my contacts at Airbnb to make sure they can provide clear guidance and or liability as it’s not federally legal.

Thanks
Nadia

You know what I meant… lol

If that’s the case then you must ban coffee, pop, alcohol(beer and wine), over the counter pain meds, and legitimate prescription medication like birth control.

Drugs all have different classes Schedule 1 2 3 etc but this is only US.

My point is have compassion for those who are suffering from cancer. Stop thinking who medicate are just Stoners who use this as an excuse. This perptuates stigma. So when you’re faced with friends or loved ones who are in so much pain, can’t eat, or find any relief and cannabis is the only medication that works you may think differently.
