Smokers who lie and say they non smokers

I’ve been stung twice now in the last two bookings by lying guests about there smoking habits. My ad clearly says no smokers are allowed to book, yet smoker guests have booked despite the ad saying no smokers are allowed to book. It’s a total breach of trust… Why do some smokers breath hosts trust like this? They are not wanted by me yet still book?

Why do smokers keep renting my Non smoking place?

My house rules read: “No pets or smoking, inside or out. Seriously.” I do not see this as unclear in any way. Why in the world are so many smokers renting my place AND SMOKING! And worse, not even trying to hide it. I charge them for it now, but rather than the money, I want them to move onto a place that allows smoking. Am I to no say “I hate smoking. Don’t even think of renting here if you plan to smoke”. If any of you have found a way to get this across please share. I am so over this ‘rul…

The rub comes in enforcing it. I try to stick to rules I can enforce. As you say, if someone is smoking in the middle of a public road or on the sidewalk in front of a home (where one exists, there’s not one at Bunny’s place) then they technically aren’t in violation of the rule. And if the guest decides to be a jerk about it, have fun.
