Varying cutoff times for booking and 'advance notice' exception for IB

Unless someone can tell me how to ‘customize’ cutoff times for same-day bookings, I have been defaulting to 11am cutoff, and when I feel lucky lol I change it to 3 or 4pm (I have 3 rooms so I try to balance the bookings).

I assume that air does not want us, for example, to allow late day bookings on certain days and early cutoffs on others. Maybe the programming math is too hard, or they have an arcane reason…

  1. How do you all deal with this? Are there others like myself who feel that cutoff times need to be moveable?

  2. When I am home, I would like to have later day bookings (folks coming in and booking until 4 or 5 for example) but when I am out, 11am max same day - it keeps me from being chained to the house for turnovers etc. How do you all deal with it - what are your needs for same day check ins?

I just change it when I need to. Yes the same cutoff time applies to all days on the calendar but I’ve never found it to be a problem. If I have a day where I didn’t get a booking but I can easily accommodate someone that day then I may change to a 7pm cutoff and then change it back to 2 pm the next day.

Assuming you don’t necessarily know when you’ll be home until the same day, that means you could be making frequent changes to your booking settings. With Airbnb’s track record for glitches, and changes not “sticking”, etc. I would be very cautious.
