Revenues for winter can be as little as half of what you can expect in the summer in Chicago. Here’s a graph of Airbnb occupancy that helps shed some light on the low season: https://plot.ly/~beyondpricing/749.embed
it didnt work whe i tried also
Too many hosts so it is super slow here and I’m in the high season.
I think I will start advertising in Booking.com. Despite the lack of trust I have from them, it seems that is where all the guests are chilling out.
Yes, November is slow.
The weekends are still busy for us.
We are lucky we have a glacier ski area near us, and because of our lower price range we get a lot of guest that come to stay for 2 or 3 nights in the weekend.
It will stay like this until christmas, then the main season starts. Until mid march.
I am located in the Midwest and I’ve been booked solid since October and will remain so until the first week of January. I rolled right out of tourist season into hunting season and now into the holiday season. I had 3 people all trying to book Christmas here at the same time! It was crazy! I’m not complaining, mind you!
Each area is different - my slow months tend to be January and February. By mid-March we’re back into the swing of things again!
Cheers,
Rob
I’m in Hawaii and people are scrambling to book for December, January and February. I got three bookings yesterday alone. I raised all my prices way higher than I ever thought I could get and even more people booked! I’m tired of renting my place out for peanuts. They get a good deal here and I’m worth it!
We have a company that booked our appartment for 3 weeks in november, we will see after.
Of course our price are much lower than summer…
Yeah, November is our slowest month of the year. We call it ‘SLOW-vember.’ Bookings tend to grind to a halt between Halloween and Christmas and then they start picking up in January and February, because LA has nicer weather those months than most of the rest of the USA (Hawaii excluded of course…go Kona!). I suppose it’s all about knowing our markets and seasons. I am enjoying the down time now.
I was told by a reputable source that the Gold Coast, Australia had its quiestest winter [overall] in 5 years.
