Nice tip, thanks! I have a stainless steel backsplash and it’s a pain to clean. I’ve actually found that window cleaner products work quite well. Also I’ve heard that wiping baby oil over it keeps it looking nice and easier to clean. I must try it some time when I am avoiding a horrible task… like cleaning the kitchen… oh…
Believe it or not, olive oil is a great way to clean stainless steel. Method products are also good. Mostly, I could care less if my fridge door is spotless. Not like anything I eat will ever touch it.
@KKC is correct. This is not shelf contact paper. It is very thick with a heat activated (hairdryer or hand friction) adhesive that is very sticky. I had to work to punch through the material to the screw holes for the handle screws. However during the hanging process it can be torn (and I did!!). I lost control of the freezer section I was applying and let sticky side touch sticky side. I tore it when I separated the sticky sides. It did not tear easily and I was proud of the power I apparently had in my flabby biceps.
@Annet3176. I knew this wasn’t contact paper, but I still hope that you will post back in 6 months, a year with pictures so we can all see how well it has held up.
EIDTED to ADD: you did a great job.
@SandyToes
Are your black countertops UBA TUBA? If yes, my friend chalk painted her cabinets (same as mine) with a darkish ivory/brown and finished with a hand rubbed protective finish so it has a slight sheen (not a high gloss), UBA Tuba granite.

It resembles this:
I am really a dunce on products and building materials…(at first, I thought you were talking about a musical instrument) but yes, it looks exactly like my countertops.
So, you’re going with dark cabs which means you must have a lot of natural light. Mine is a small interior kitchen (2br/2ba condo), so I guess that won’t work for me, darn, but thanks. Would still love to see “after” pics.
You can buy spray paint and zap it. There is the anti rust type etc.
Thank you.
About cleaning, all the manufacturer says is “do not use abrasive cleansers” &
“Easy to clean”. I’m glad you asked. I will email the manufacturer to find what they suggest then share.
FYI, the magic eraser that I so love is a melamine abrasive. But not a cleanser.
Granite has some odd names. My personal favorite is Butterfly Verde which is a very dark green with mica, ruby or garnet & sapphire tiny speckles. Most people think my home countertops are black until they see them in bright light. I can’t decide what color cabinet paint would work best so I may go with UBA tuba
It will be next spring probably before I paint. I will gladly share pics & update the condition of the refrigerator.
I think dark countertops (granite or any other substance) are a b!tch to keep clean looking.
If you’re in an area where there is hard water, like L.V., water spots/mineral deposits show up easier on a dark surface and around faucets. They are a pain in the apple.
Other than that, it’s easy enough to give a quick spray or buff to bring up the shine. It’s just that I prefer light and bright. Dark surfaces or surroundings affect my mood.
I understand about too much dark & moods. This time of year, short daylight affects me. I am amazed at the people who handle extended dark with ease
I have done that and it’s only been able to provide a temporary fix.
About cleaning this stainless covering: from the vendor.

Any general household cleaner. Windex, 409. Clorox wipes…
I have never uploaded a photo before, guess I need help in that department!
Great decal! Very clever
It’s fine, if one clicks on the photo the entire thing shows.
I’m glad you mentioned this because while the decal is cute, it wouldn’t be a good look in all rentals. Did you paint the cabinets and change the hinges and handles yourself? They look great.
Where did you find that?!! I love it
