Male vs female hosts

Emily…you started with the snarkiness when you called putting tampons in a bin gross! Normal body function; you used the label not me

I did wonder why a woman’s natural body function should be labelled gross though, hence why I asked what else counted as gross… after all if you can accept using the loo isn’t gross, then why should using a bin to dispose of something be gross?

Emily didn’t start the snarkiness. She simply described what she does to be a good guest. You personally insulted her with absolutely no provocation. I don’t think that women need to “educate” other women whom they don’t know on how they should feel about bodily waste.

Ah… could you point to the insult please EllenN?

EDIT:

I’d agree. Emily telling me (a woman she doesn’t know) it’s gross to put women’s products in a bin falls under ‘educating me’, and as it happens I don’t agree. Therefore, it’s a comment I can reasonably question.

I normally agree with most of what you say @EllenN you’re consistently a voice of reason on the forums; I have to disagree with you with this one though. C’est la vie.

This is the insult:

Just out of interest - do you also avoid using the loo in a hosts home because it’s gross? How about having sex? Is that gross too?

I assume that this is Emily’s comment that you are referring to:

I won’t bother to respond to your nasty comments @Zandra about not using the toilet etc by your own admission you’re not very ‘lady-like’ but that just shows a really low level of maturity.

Emily quoted you on being “unladylike” whatever that means. She said that your comments showed a low level of maturity. I don’t see where she called you rude, nasty, with a low level of maturity and/or ungracious.

Used feminine products in the trash are gross after a short while. They smell bad, Also, if there is a dog on the premises and that trash can isn’t Fort Knox, the tampon or pad will be shredded all over the house.

From my perspective, its a question. Admittedly a leading question…because I can’t see how one is acceptable and not the other.

And Emily’s response in which she levels personal insults is simply, in your view, a ‘comment’? O.K.

Let’s agree to disagree on this one. If there’s a dog on the property theres a live-in host changing the bins; if there’s a guest on their own they’re also changing the bins because they know they’ve put a degradable product in the bin.

Meanwhile there are homeless people looking for food/items to sell such as plastic in the public bins and finding Emily’s waste products. Ah well. Lucky them!
