Pretty funny. But why would you have a camera in the bedroom to start with? That seems really invasive.
Its a studio apartment so the bedroom is in the room.
Well, I’d never heard of the thing until you mentioned it and just looked it up myself.
And one thing that popped up was how they make these “cute” things now so we get used to it and think nothing of it, just like you did, when in fact, it is a method of surveillance.
You couldn’t pay me to use a voice command anything. Talking to one’s inanimate appliances is just too weird
Why did you throw away the pics? Recyle, right?
If airbnb found out that you had a camera in someone’s personal space, they would shut you down. I also know my insurance would also cancel me. Be careful.
Jeez…thanks. It was a mistake on my part and I corrected it. I am only human.
Funny, not so funny thing happened after I posted this story here. My listing is now missing from ABB. The digital clock debacle was a MISTAKE on my part. I corrected it. So some asshole here reported me??? Deleted this account.
Likelihood it was your guest. Unless you’ve posted details of your listing on here, how would someone here be able to report it to Airbnb?
That’s what happens when you break the Tos by having undisclosed internal cameras.

gosh, I missed the entire fun episode. Dang…
Well, this forum is public-anyone can read it, and unlike the Airbnb forum, your listing isn’t attached to your profile unless you put it there yourself.
Doubt very much another host here would rat you out for what was obviously just an ignorance about what that device actually did.
Hope you can find out why your listing disappeared. Hopefully just some coincidental glitch.
Doubt it- he wants to go out with her.
Me too……………………………………….
…something about a camera in a clock radio? Do tell!
Surely this is some kind of trolling.
ME too. bummed…
It’s only 1:30 in Florida and I already need a cocktail. I’m going to go by @JohnF time…
The funniest part of this entire thread is that the host who mistakenly put a camera in the private part of their Airbnb is now massively paranoid about their posts here, is frantically trying to delete all their incriminating posts and seemingly doesn’t know that stuff posted on the internet is there in the ether somewhere forever.
Well, @Blu, at least you got a bottle of expensive wine and a phone number out of the episode. Maybe you should take “mr. dicpic” up on his offer.
No, not trolling. She posted a story last night about a guest calling her because he “accidentally” was naked in front of this little alarm clock/camera thing that the host didn’t realize was actually a recording camera until I asked her why she had a camera in the bedroom. She was actually clueless about it- just thought it was some cute, benign thing, and freaked out when she then Googled it.
Then the guest hit on her in a message after he left, so I think he just wanted her to look at his dic-pics.
OK, I never saw the original post, but… if the info about the host’s listing missing from Airbnb is due to posting about it on a public internet forum, then the de-listing was justified.
I saw the OP. I doubt there are any snitches here who would run to AirBnB and report a random forum post
