Simple, just don’t post.
This forum doest let people leave?
Is it the Hotel California or what?
You just… leave! And then you just don’t come back! It’s easy.
Why isnt there an option to delete your account?
I’d love to.
I cant find an option to delete my account.
I have changed my settings to stop receiving email notifications about posts Ive responded to, but i keep getting them.
Is it actually allowed to forbid people to delete their account?
Ask a one of the folks who runs this forum to help you delete your account. @KKC can point you in the right direction.
I’ll be sure to ask her when she returns from her adventures this evening. I’m sure she can make this happen!
Well, as a mod, so could I. But the OP has been rude to so many members here that I’m inclined not to …
As a mod, you have the power to re-set the tome of this acrimonious thread in a magnanimous moment of grace… or you can choose to use that power to settle a personal grievance.
Just sayin’
Absolutely right, I could.
Bwahaha, you GO, Jaquo! Make ‘em twitch😂
Except… nobody’s actually “twitching.”
Back to Groundhog day at the Hotel California.
Dont ban me then Jacky.
We keep going.
You have the ability to stop participating without being banned. Why not just leave? Block the emails and go away. Your threads will die over the next few days/week or so if you stop keeping them alive.
Because I would like to delete my account.
@mollimac , LOL! You didn’t say a word about it! @casailinglady I actually can’t delete a profile.
@Mar Anyone who has posted over a certain number of posts can’t just be deleted with one click. They say things are on the internet forever and that’s kind of true here. Even posts you deleted here can be seen by me with a few clicks but it’s more work than I care to do. I think maybe if you went and deleted all your posts dating back to 2016 a mod might be able to delete your account. Even the forum owner can’t delete but if you contact him @tom2 and inquire he can anonymize your posts. I think they still remain visible.
The obvious solution is to simply stop posting and never log in again. Move email notifications to spam or turn off notifications here.
Thanks very much KKC, I appreciate it.
I am trying to delete my posts but it only lets me delete a few and then tells me I need to wait a few hours before I can delete again.
Sad that the posts might not be here in the future.
This is a cautionary tale for those who come to a forum and, when told something contrary to their beliefs, escalates their indignation exponentially until they suddenly realize that their commentary casts them in a light they did not anticipate. Not realizing that everything they said remains on the web forever (can anybody say “Wayback Machine”?) is truly a lightbulb moment.
The other sad thing here is that a host will continue to work against the hosting community by not sharing information about bad guest activity. I feel bad for the next host of the guest talked about here - it would have been so easy to leave an honest review so that the next host could decide to accept / decline. Now, that host will be tortured unnecessarily.
