Helping Hosts in Ukraine

I found a SuperHost in Odessa. Had been hosting for years.
You can book a stay overnight. Then cancel right away and not get a refund.
This way many donations can be made today.
It all goes to them tomorrow(?) hopefully.
They say they don’t need the money but will pass it on to it’s best use. Says they have already raised $25000 USD .
Like any charity. You have to hope it get’s used wisely.
I was able to use my airbnb $100 coupon from superhosting as well.
My great grandparent came to USA from Ukraine. We are just hoping all families can be reunited soon and this BS stops. If refugees arrive to USA, we have an apartment for them.

Hello everybody! Thanks to everyone who now helps Ukraine in this horrible time of war! This war made me lose my job. My family decided not to leave the country and stay here until the very victory, no matter how hard it was. In the last news, I saw a story that on airbnb you can get financial assistance. It is very uncomfortable to ask for help like this… But if you have the opportunity, please help, book my apartment [temporarily removed by JF]

@Dymytro I’ve removed details of your listing for now, a decision as whether it can be reinstated will be taken shortly.

We all appreciate the situation you and your family are in, but I’m sure you can appreciate that we are wary of host accounts with no pre war history. Everyone donating “nights” wants to be sure that the funds are going to a genuine Ukrainian host.

Stay safe,

JF

Someone in the hospitality community thought of this: Start by writing your review in google translate then copy paste the Russian into Russian restaurants and other businesses. This could be an anonymous a safe way to convey and share info for all parties.

“Today, I have taken a random Russian city and gone to every resturant, hotel and hospital. I’ve given a five star review that tells of what Russia is doing in Ukraine.
Feel free to send your message to the Russian people.”

I just read that google and trip adv are against this, made it impossible somehow on Russian places
