Guests using my place for photo shoot

I was working on a part of the A303 upgrade last year. It really needs upgrading esp near Stonehenge - what a nightmare so I’m not surprised part of it is closed.

Hopefully they don’t cause any damage. Remember to take photos if they do!

It depends where you are, some of the villages are snowed in.

Where I live the airport is closed, there are no buses, few trains and everyone has been asked not to travel by road unless it’s an emergency.

I can’t imagine most people will have snow tires or chains either

Not in a city where we are hardly ever get any snow - no

How long is this supposed to last? Even the trains aren’t running? Did the OP say where he is located?

I’d say only parts of rural Scotland and Wales do lol … everyone else :-1:

And we still have idiots getting into their cars, getting stuck or causing accidents and then emergency staff have to waste time going out to rescue them.

Here we should be back to normal at some point next week.

In the North and Scotland the snow will probably continue for longer.

We are in rural Somerset, a tiny village called Compton Pauncefoot. I have two places in the village that we have renovated and let out through air bnb, generally everyone has been really great guests.

We do have a-lot of snow here tonight, with more forecast this evening. Jolly well hope he attempts to leave tomorrow, still no reply to my messages, or updates from admin at air bnb.

His profile states he is from Surrey, apparently he is a celebrity chef! He has been cooking at the cottage and photographing it all for a company called

Difference Coffee Co.

Wow, maybe you should take Mr Celebrity Chef out on social media! It’s very stressful though. What if you had new guests coming?!! You can’t just overstay at a place because of bad weather! He needs to pay up.

Don’t be shy about calling in on your case every hour if you have to. This is outrageous.

Very convenient. Had you forgotten? You were coming to stay next time you’re here, just because of the pub next door!

But no, not just a bit of snow. We thought we’d escaped it just north of Dover but we’re now snowed in, with a blizzard blowing snow off the fields into drifts in the lanes. The area where the OP seems to be, has also been hit by Storm Emma I believe, coming off the Atlantic and hitting The Beast from the East, turning into more snow and blizzard conditions. We’ve had severe weather warnings for several days all over the UK. Helsi is quite right to call out idiot motorists who ignored the warnings not to drive out into it.

I am going to keep on messaging him through air bnb too, so I have record of being ignored constantly.
I have to confess to getting really irritated by him now, I just cannot reconcile his level of deceit.

Absolute Pig of a man, he is called Martin Chiffers, look him up.

I can’t reconcile it either. He is stealing from you. This will not end well for him and the scantily clad assistant. Hope she has a wool coat for the snow!

Can you call the police at this point? Not sure they can (or will) do anything about trespassing but definitely make sure they know he has been aggressive.

I think he is having you on, if he was a celebrity chef he wouldn’t be photographing his own food. Food photography is a specialist skill. And he wouldn’t be telling you he didn’t have the money to stay elsewhere.

Nor would he risk his reputation by refusing to pay to stay at your place - you could out him to the media in a heartbeat if he really was a celeb.

Edit - if he is the guy on the twitter account it sounds like he’s a former pastry chef and now a judge and ‘advisor’ rather than a celebrity chef who regular appears on TV and in the media. Still I am sure he wouldn’t want bad publicity so if it’s him he’s being a complete idiot.

We are in the middle of an emergency here with the bad weather and the emergency services are incredibly overstretched.

Even in normal times they wouldn’t do anything as this is a civil matter, let alone with thing as they are.

It looks beautiful, perhaps if you get the opportunity you could push him and his equipment into the water

On a serious note, get on the phone to Airbnb and ask for their advice. This guy is clearly not going to leave until he wants to.

Is there a pub in the village with rooms. If so can you check if they have space and then go to your cottage with friends and wait there till they pack their things and move?

Not involving the police, they would not respond, Helsi is absolutely correct.
I will hoof them out tomorrow myself, I shall lend him a shovel if necessary to clear a track for the car, he will be gone by the morning, my resolve will have left me by then.

Got it. Sorry to hear that! Hope all is ok with you. I can only imagine the chaos based on what I used to experience in the U.K. when just a couple of inches fell!
