Guest who is a Host Requests Refund

Air BNB does not care what is written in your listing, they only care about their TOS.

As an avid traveler sht happens all the time, especially in winter. We have had flights rebooked for a week after the original travel dates! If you arent savy and continue to push thr airlines, you can get stuck, or not even take off.

Yes, this situation sucks, but I really dont get how it would not fall into EC? And why we have any thought these guests were not going to get an EC refund. We have cancelled many hotels bc of cancelled flights due to weather, without issues.

the contract a guest signs and initials is between me and the guest…not ABB.

In the past year I have had 2 cancellations from unusual circumstances . Eg baby and a medical one.
I was not able to re-fill the dates so did not give refunds in cash but I did offer that both parties could re-use that money as a deposit towards their next booking.
They were happy with the outcome and I thought that was a win/win for us both.
Sometimes one has to take a leap of faith and trust the information given is honest.

I thought all refunds went through Airbnb and you shouldn’t offer guests cash?
