No, I don’t feel bad for him. People who can’t handle a difference of opinion or anyone pointing out that what they are stating is flat-out wrong, and who only expect commiseration and support aren’t cut out for online forums.
But it was nice of you to apologize.
And some of those people who were told they were getting refunds actually ended up with travel credits instead of money.
I can just see the updated SH grant information page now. They’ll just slip in one little sentence, “and some grants will be awarded in the form of travel credits”. Cause Airbnb
Honestly I cannot understand why I was picked on. I only mentioned Level 2 because I would think I would be eligible. And BTW anyone can be a Level 2. And you can let Brian know that Airbnb told me that I am a Level 2 of course, who else? I am struggling like everyone else. Just looking for support that made my day worse. I am a 63 year single woman just trying to make it on my own. Sorry I joined.
Hahaha … wouldn’t that be something. Actually, I’d accept the credits … better than what most of us will probably get …nothing!
@540LukeDog
Again, I apologize if I hurt your feelings. I know we are all stressed out and just looking for guidance.
sorry … not picking on you, but there really isn’t a Level 2 Superhost” on the Airbnb platform. You are either a “host” or a “Superhost”. As others on here have tried to explain, maybe there are “levels” on Airbnb Forums, but the Forums are not the same as Airbnb “the company”.
When other hosts point out that what someone posts is incorrect, that’s not picking on you. It’s that we want to make sure that other readers aren’t confused or mislead by incorrect info, and to try to educate the person who posted the misinformation.
In spite of all the responses trying to explain what the levels refer to, you still don’t seem to understand. Airbnb didn’t tell you that you were Level 2- you have a level 2 on the community forum, which has nothing whatsoever to do with hosting or or your hosting account.
Honestly, other hosts here are super helpful and supportive, although it may not come across like that to you. Try not to take things too personally. And you are in good company here- there are plenty of us who are seniors and on our own. I myself am 70 and single.
I don’t think that’s true, because they are only giving it to hosts with 1-2 listings, not the big guys
You don’t think what’s true?
I tried to post that in response to saying they are only supporting the hosts who make them the most money
@Wren Ah, well, I was specifically referring to who will supposedly receive invites based on the criteria they have stated. I didn’t mean that they’d be sending them to the mega property managers with scores or hundreds of listings, but among the Superhosts who meet the criteria, the ones who show the largest loss when comparing this year to last year would get the invites, rather than a host who doesn’t take in as much $ to start with.
A host who lists a private room in their home for $50/night plus a cottage in their back yard for $100/night would show a bigger loss than a host who only rents a private room for $30. But the host with the one private room may be financially needier.
Wondering the same thing. Can we just expect for them to reach out to us? Or has there been any talk of an application that we can submit to them?
There isn’t any application process. You either get an invite or not.
