Hi @crowntown,
Is there any evidence this helps with the rankings?

Hi @crowntown,
Is there any evidence this helps with the rankings?
I was looking up my rental and had the issue where the first 10 results were the same for all 17 pages. Strange.
It’s been going for the past week .How people are to find us if we are not on first page ??
I just signed up, so I don’t know for sure, but it can’t hurt. Airbnb likes active hosts and appears to use how often you update your calendar and listing as proof of such. Also, I believe it makes your calendar reflect that it was updated “today” for your potential guests. I don’t know if that has any real effect either, but when I’m looking at properties, I guess it psychologically makes me feel that the host is more attentive. Of course, they could just have @smartbnb.io, too!
I just checked my area, and it is repeating the first page again. I got three bookings yesterday, so maybe it was normal then, or maybe I was on the front page and was one of the few options. This is really maddening.
My area search today is working correctly.
Remember to search in incognito or your browser could be remembering you and showing you what you last saw.
Incognito on my phone shows the same 10 results. On my work computer IE browser it shows proper non duplicated results
Really?? This is so crazy .
It’s been an abysmally slow year for us. We use smartbnb and have been barely showing up on the market report. We haven’t received a market report since 3/2. Contacted smartbnb and got this reply:
Market reports are currently being rewritten to adapt them to the new search back-end released by Airbnb on February 22. They have been suspended and we hope to release them again shortly.
I also complained to Air about our ranking and the CS rep said we were showing up on page one. Uh, no we’re not.
@Yana @SuiteInSeattle do you guys have instant book turned on and/or flexible cancellation?
@KKC, my listing has IB and a moderate cancellation policy.
Ok. I am suspicious that Airbnb is trying to force hosts into accepting policies they favor by moving them down or off searches. Then you seek ways to “get more bookings” and they suggest these policies. I’m just speculating. It’s probably related to the update in the site. How long have you been slow?
Instant book always and strict policyThey didn’t have these many glitches before Lately its one after another
It’s not that I ma slow , it’s the fact that I am booked after everything else is booked . And also my pool house was not showing insearch since guests just told me they were Looking everyday for a house like mine and only found it after 26 days it iwas back on a market .
We haven’t gotten a new booking since February 3rd and have nothing on the books between now and mid-April!
January wasn’t bad and we had a few bookings in February, too. Now we’re just waiting.
Are you getting any views on your profile?
That’s an excellent question. The Air site says we’ve had 119 views in the past 30 days. Obviously we did not convert them into bookings. The interesting thing is that our pricing this year is on par with last year, but with the market saturation and the race to the bottom on pricing, I guess the same prices weren’t not competitive. Lots of new listings and rock bottom prices. I saw a 3 bed listing in the city and close to downtown for under $100/night. That is unsustainable.
Is that number of views consistent with previous months/last year?
It seems the glitch is on some viewing platforms and not others so the rental is still visible to some but obviously not all. Which is crazy
I rented my pool house for much more this year than last. It’s not the price. It’s the fact that my listing is not visible
I no longer get my market report emailed to me in the morning. I logged in yesterday to find out what the problem was and it’s related to the changes airbnb made on the 22nd. The market report can be generated on demand but it takes awhile to get it.
It’s not their fault they have to rework all their software now but the market report is the main feature I use. I’ve requested two reports and they both show me as #1 for all future dates and that’s not accurate.
@crowntown it seems your timing wasn’t the best. If it’s not fixed soon I’ll be cancelling my subscription as I don’t use their other services.
