Account Disabled, Please Help

Yes, it is super high end and the job has the potential to grow. Not expecting to make much at this point.

It’s good to hear this at least from people. For a few months, I worked as the assistant to someone who ran 8 airbnb properties and I learned a ton. I would’t book anyone through Airbnb without first speaking to them at great lengths. I also check in everyone personally to give a house tour, offer pick up and drop off from the airport, etc. However, I just received another “sorry but no and no reason” email so I won’t be listing it on Airbnb. Thank you everyone for your help.

I plan on having it on like 10 sites. What sites do you recommend? I really like Peerspace. They take a huge commission, but it attracts a lot of great events and productions and people aren’t allowed to spend the night.

I’m glad that people think it shouldn’t need Airbnb. I was pretty confident I could work my butt off advertising it to make up for the Airbnb loss but its good to hear that people don’t think it even belongs on the platform.

BTW, Kona thinks what you did is put your contact information on the Airbnb listing, like in the listing, or on the pictures so that potential guests could book the place off of Airbnb. Thanks for clarifying that it was having two accounts that was the violation. It’s good to know that Airbnb does make an effort to stop people from doing this.

No, I wish. That’s just the listing price, after taxes and payments, depending on the site, the profit is like $875.

No way. I know better than to take people outside of the platform. Yes, I agree. I am glad that they are strict, but there’s a blind-sidedness to it. The bank info was under his name, they can easily verify that he was the owner of the property. So worse case scenario, I’m a stranger listing his property and he is making money from it…?

With respect you didn’t learn that much from working with someone with eight Airbnb properties, if you managed to get your bosses listing banned when setting it up

And don’t offer pick up and drop offs from the airport just give them the names of local cab companies.

Why on earth would you want to list on somewhere like peerspace for a high end property - any easy way to get your bosses place trashed hiring it out for parties, photo shoots etc. And why do you want to list on ten sites particularly.

Have you actually done any market research to see where it would be best to list it, rather than going for easy wins.

And how much of that is yours?

Sounds like Parties are involved if they are not sex or porn.

Agree booking transport for guests is most likely more hassle than its worth.

If I understood well, your boss didn’t have an account before and you made him one. In doing so you put in some conflicting info (your name, his bank account number, etc. …). This caused the account to be shut down. To me it appears that AirBnB shut it down for security reasons.

Why don’t you try this as a solution: Try to make a new account for your boss, using all HIS info.
Have you tried this? Did it work?

If this works, there are two possible routes:
1/ Try to get yourself a new account and do the cohosting ‘magic’. I don’t have experience with this.
2/ If you can’t get yourself a new account, just put a photo of you and your boss on HIS account, explain in the listing that he’s the owner and you are the manager. And just share his account to do everyday business.

EDIT: Judging by the fact that your “B” has changed from blue to green, I think you also made a second account here :grin:. I hope you at least keep a lovely administration of all the different accounts you manage. This forums limits the amount of replies on your first day, just respect this and return tomorrow with your first account.

I had maxed out my daily responses so I had to create a new account just to respond. I don’t plan on using this platform again because I will not be using Airbnb. At my previous job I wasn’t dealing with the online set up aspect of the company, I was dealing with all of the guest interactions, stocking, scheduling, managing calendars. I did however run their Peerspace and received great reviews. Listen, i’m starting out, but I am smart. I was creating websites back to back and VRBO had no issues with my name being the point of contact on the account as long as my boss had HIS bank information listed. I called to verify. Yes, it wasn’t great to assume that Airbnb had the same policies in place, but my bank information was not listed. Literally there could have been no issue resulting in my contact being listed. The owner still received every drop of the funds. Regardless, I do appreciate your help. I have several skills in line to help me. I actually professionally photographed the property myself because i’m also a photographer. I staged and furnished the entire place all by myself. I also build websites (ironic), i’m kind, honest, and hard-working. I do deserve this job, regardless of my lacking experience, and I will do it well. Yes I have done research and I am waiting for approval on various luxury rental platforms. I do not book porn through Peerspace and specifically list this. Peerspace has been a great tool. I book high-end events through the site, production, and low-key baby showers, etc.

I didn’t want people to think that I stopped responding. I didn’t think that they would assume that I was unable to respond. I want people to know that I welcome advice and I don’t run away from it. Honestly, I wish you all the best. I am sorry if I have offended anyone on here.

I didn’t mention porn @bri.joy @Como did - I wasn’t quite sure what they were referring to either.

I said people use Peerspace to book parties and photo shoots which can ruin a property.

Airbnb shut down the listing you tried to set up for your boss because they clearly say you should not have more than one account. You used the same contact details as you had for an existing account so they shut it down. Simple as that.

You haven’t offended anyone. Just don’t try to run before you can work. Do your research, see where comparable properties are being advertised. Research these platforms. Don’t rush. Set it up on one platform and learn to manage that well before you try and take on other platforms,.

Your case certainly is interesting, also to me! Me and my hubby are sharing one account. Since we are in his country I made it with his name and his bank account. For practical reasons I was thinking of changing his bank account to my bank account. Which could potentially lead to us also being shut down :confounded:. So I thank you for posting your story, so I don’t attempt to make the same mistake.

Could you answer this one please?

I think the potential problem is: Accounts being hacked, bank account information being changed and money ending up where it shouldn’t end up. This is the reason, I believe, AirBnB doesn’t allow.

I understand, it’s a problem lots of newcomers face when they come to the forum looking for urgent help. I will talk to the moderators and ask if they have a solution.

I specifically did not want to create a new account solely with the information of my boss because I didn’t want to create further problems. The email I received specifically stated that their decision to close the account was final and would affect all future account creation. I assume the property address/ my ip address is flagged. I wanted to attempt to fix the current issue. I also will not try to go around Airbnb’s back to have it re-listed without them knowing. The last people I worked for did that because they were really awful hosts and I disagreed morally with their decisions and that is why I left that job.

For a property like that I would want a real security deposit, also secreams party party party and with high end stuff you really do not want that. Any type. I read the listing.

I require an on-site manager for large events, aka myself. I also require a separate certificate of insurance. I was responding to everyone in that message, didn’t mean to accuse you of making a reference to something that you had not. I am working 8am-9pm every day do my best to research, meet with maintenance people to double check that all things are working, etc. My poor girlfriend is picking up all of the slack at our apartment for this reason, but we know that if I continue to work hard, it will hopefully pay off. Once again, I appreciate your insight and all information provided thus far.

vrbo either offers a manually inputted security deposit or they have a system built in that covers up to $5,000. People are reluctant to have 1,000 held and prefer a $99 fee. For Peerspace, I collect a $1000 security deposit.
