Welcome to our community of concerned, caring hosts! We hope you enjoy and learn.
Here is a quick guide on putting together your first post here. Not everything in this list may concern you, but don’t be a typical guest - actually read what’s here.
Hi I am ________ and have been a (Superhost / long time Airbnb host / new host with a brand new listing / no longer a host, but let me explain). I’ve been hosting for (many years / a few weeks / seems like forever, but it’s only been since March).
My Airbnb has been a “guest choice” listing! We have had (over a thousand /hundreds / many / our first guest) and our reviews have always been fabulous.
I just had a guest leave who complained and gave me a bad review! As I said, our Airbnb is just perfect, and I (can’t understand why this happened / am ready to leave the platform / want to fight over this).
NOTE: Make sure that the next paragraph (paragraph 3) is written in an offhand manner or buried in the description of the horrible and angry texts that the guest sent so that it appears that we are totally in the right and the guest is expecting perfection…
We (forgot to clean / did not have an amenity that was listed in our listing / was too busy with our amazing life to answer a text - phone call - doorbell) but of course that should not matter since the guest obviously has to know of the hosts’ busy life and outside of Airbnb interests. DO NOT acknowledge that the reason the guest complained was based on your actions, even though you will mention that in this paragraph. It’s important to minimize your part of the problem (" our basement room, always has standing water when it rains, and we did tell the guests where the towels were. We were shocked, shocked I tell you, that they did not appreciate our sincere gift of cleanup materials that were left in an undisclosed location behind a locked closet.")
When I called airbnb they were not able to help me in the way that I wanted. I also heard from a friend on another platform that they are always taken care of and that other platform will soon put Airbnb out of business.
Your final paragraph may also contain, if needed, a description of your life, showing how keeping up with this forum and actually interacting with everybody is impossible. For example, you’re busy with your grandkids all the time or you’re afraid that the Internet will steal your words and give them to Steven Miller or some other MAGA person.
Whatever you do - once you’ve written this extremely detailed and graphic description of how you were wronged, never, and we repeat, never come back here to interact with the solutions provided, or actually tell us what ultimately happened.
Feel free to use this template on the other six post you’re gonna make on Reddit, Airbnb conversations, etc.
Addendum: Never use paragraphs so that the poor reader has to try to read your post as one long stream of ‘thought’. Punctuation dilutes the energy you want to project.
Again, thank you for joining our forum. Although your stay will be a short one we hope you felt good after writing your inaccurate description of your feeling.
