Why was I just asked to verify my account?

Hello!

Upon attempting to login to Airbnb today, I was asked to verify my account through an SMS text message. After I verified (entered the 4 digit code they sent me) I was then asked to change my password.

Anyone know why? I’m confused.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Thanks for the response. The only thing I can come up with is that maybe I was logging in from a different browser or computer and the site didn’t recognize me. Strange indeed.
