VRBO/Homeaway now collecting taxes like ABB

Just a little tidbit of info I just received from Homeaway/VRBO that I thought I’d share with this forum.

Looks like, at least in WA state, they are going to collect/remit taxes similar to the ABB platform:

Effective: July 1, 2018
Tax Name: Washington Combined Sales Tax and other transient lodging taxes, including: Special Hotel/Motel Tax, Convention and Trade Center Tax, Regional Transit Authority Tax, and Tourism Promotion Area Charges
Here’s what you need to know:
• Other taxes you may be liable for include property tax, business tax, etc.
• Travelers will see this charge as Stay Tax (or Lodging Tax), which is added to the total amount paid.
• Owners in impacted jurisdictions cannot opt-out.
Also, taxing authorities may impose additional taxes that are not being collected and remitted by HomeAway.
