I live in the uk and if Ive got a query I use the UK contact no but I never get to speak to someone in the UK. So I then speak to someone in another call centre which I think maybe the Phillapines who are very polite but have a problem understanding what I am saying or I have a problem with what they are saying . It can take 30 mins to try and sort a problem out but if I could get straight through to the UK it would be far less complicated. I dont mean to be rude but is there really a UK call centre. Ive tried calling at different times of the day but it doesnt make a difference.
Well the Philippines is 7 hours ahead so you could time when you call. I have had Ireland quite a bit and that was good.
I had to ring Virgin yesterday and some departments are 100% Phillipines. Obviously a scam to avoid the minimum wage in the UK.
The Uk number takes you to a number of places, depending on the time of day, although I don’t think I’ve ever reached the Phillipines. I’ve spoken to Lisbon late at night, somewhere in Eastern Europe, and Dublin, my favourite. I find I get through to Dublin between UK 2pm-7pm ish.
Not necessarily a scam @Jess1 , more of a common way of doing business. Many multi-nationals manufacture and produce goods and services in developing countries as it makes their goods cheaper to produce and therefore cheaper for the end customer.
Our clothes, furniture, food, white goods, cars and utilities are all in some way produced or serviced by those working in developing countries.
Potato potato, tomato tomato. In my humble opinion I pay Richard Branson plenty enough for him to pay staff the minimum wage and not sue our NHS to boot.
