Trip Advisor certificate of excellence

Dear Cabinhost,

You’re close to meeting the criteria for a Certificate of Excellence! To qualify by March 31, 2017, you simply need to improve your review score.

Remember: It’s easy to request reviews from past guests via your dashboard (whether they booked through our platform or elsewhere!).

It just looks like a grab for Trip Advisor to gather emails of guests who booked on other sites. And now they can advertise to them.

Does anyone here have their certificate of excellence? Did you receive more bookings?

I really can’t tell if you are joking Dudley!

OK…if they did send you a decal, did they also slap something on your online listing?

"To get the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award, businesses must:

Maintain Very Good and Excellent reviews (a 4 out of 5 rating)
Receive a minimum number of reviews (the exact amount is part of the secret algorithm)
Have been on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months"

Hahaha…well I think I only have about 8 reviews on TA. I’m pretty sure I am nowhere near receiving some award.

“They sent me a really cool window decal. Just for laughs I stuck it in the rear window of my car. I don’t know that I get any more bookings, but I do get some strange looks every now and then.”

@Robert_Dudley: (Are you ever in the car when that happens?)

“Decal, Schmecal… send me a damned Superhost Cape and a pair of Speedos with a giant “S” on 'em…”

Okay Robert, Cape is on the way.
Uh…will a small “S” work for ya’?

I think you should scotch tape it to the outside of the biscotti jar.

Trip Advisor seems to be making inroads again. I had the coveted Certificate of Excellence for a few years. More bookings? Hard to quantify. Very similar to being a Superhost. It just gives you added credibility for those guests who are aware of these rewards. And yes, you get a nice sticker as well as being able to apply an image to your website etc. Actually, they even sent me a calico travel bag one year. A great accessory to have around your shoulder when checking into a hotel, visiting a restaurant, cafe etc. All of a sudden you get extra service when they think you have something to do with Trip Advisor! To get even better service - pull out a pen and notepad when sitting down for that coffee! (;
