The Terrible Guests - and it's us!

i joined airbnb as a guest then became a host - use it all the time - and have lots of hosts to stay as well as guests - suppose that is the point of being part of the community - sharing !!! some people seem to have missed that point and think of airbnb as a financial solution - happy to see them leave when the do - so the rest of us can enjoy the sense of community and ethics economically and socially airbnb gives to the world -

Yes you totally have to go be a guest sometimes-such an eye-opener!
Also sleep in the room/house you rent out yourself to pick up the vibe of how guests feel there.

Wish we had Oxy-clean in Italy…

Touché :smile_cat::grinning: well said!

I’m a host who’s also been a guest many times. At 24, I just recently bought a home and host with AirBnB. Before I was a host though, I was the guest, and now from the perspective of the host, I would hate hosting myself. Oh well, I’ll act differently next time I get an AirBnB.

When I would rent for AirBnBs I had the mentality that I was renting out space for myself. Not that it was someone else’s home and that I was their guest. I would take my time in the shower, didn’t care how loud I was, wouldnt care how long I took to cook something in the kitchen because “Hey, I’m paying to stay here right?” I now realize how immature that mindset is. You’re a guest in someone’s home, it’s not even like you’re renting out a room on Craigslist and you have roommates. This is completely different, and I’ll treat it as such next time.
