The baffling irrelevance of listing tips

Funny thing today - I noticed there was a cheery red dot on my Airbnb listing tab so I thought I’d check to see what the tip being offered was.

‘Add coffee maker to your listing. We noticed it in your photos but it isn’t listed under amenities’

There is no coffee maker in the photos. Because there isn’t one at the property.

I am quite intrigued as what could possibly look like a coffee maker to an AI bot?

I have about 17 “opportunities” that have been sitting there for years I have no intention of doing. The one I love most is “Add heat- let guests know how they can stay warm”.

I live in a tropical beach town- there are no homes in anywhere along the 1700 km west coast of Mexico, except up near the US border, that have or require heating. Quite the opposite.

We do get some chilly nights in the winter some years, but nothing that a pair of long pants and sweater aren’t adequate for.
