Should I provide a bad review for this location?

The listing says toilet paper is provided but doesn’t say only one roll for everyone for the entire stay.

Says there is a washing machine but doesn’t say if detergent is is provided or not. I did give them 5 stars if I recall as the place was mostly fine.

I always buy lots of toilet paper because it’s pretty cheap. and I will always leave two or three capsules for the washing machine because the capsules are only about 50 cents each so the cost is mininal. I find many of my guests actually do laundry and that’s the reason why they choose my Airbnb over a hotel

Totally agree… let your guests know you do NOT provide any detergent and only ONE roll of toilet paper for their stay. This way they can be prepared.

I just started account yesterday mate.

I would never assume that a self-catering place was providing washing powder or capsules for a washing machine, any more than I would expect them to provide food, because they provide a cooker. @lchiu7

My guests rarely use my washing machine unless on longer stays and I do provide washing capsules, conditioner etc.

However when staying with other hosts I don’t assume or expect that they host in the same way that I do - just that they host as outlined in their listing description. @ZeroZ

The amenity box is only for washer and/or dryer. And it actuall says, “free or for a fee”. So no one should assume that the washer is free much less comes with free detergent. I would never assume that the washer was free or that the detergent was included. There’s nothing that implies that from the amenity section. If it’s really important to someone, then they should ask about it before booking.

Yes, exactly the analogy I was going to use :slightly_smiling_face:

If you read again. I said “when I host”. Which means, yes. Im a host. In the future please read my posts before replying. Thanks mate

I read that, I also read the first two posts you made here which made me doubt you were a host. I am ok being wrong, if I am.

Yw mate

I just checked my profile for fun. I have hosted 142 guests and I am a Superhost. I have been a guest 24 times (maybe I should travel more often hmmmmm).
That is my truth. No need to lie. Can send you my listing in PM if you want.
I understand your wonderings. Its just more rememberebal being a guest compared to hosting. Hosting is routine. I rarely see my guests. But being a guest you notice everything more. You are in another house for weeks. I see the difference about how the hosts does things and how I do things in my listings.
And I love hosting, and also love traveling through AirBnB. Havent used Hotel for years.

edit: Sorry for my language and spelling. English not my first language.

Me too

Welcome to the forum mate.

Damien, you’re confusing me now. In another thread, where you’re saying that you don’t like guesthouses, you give as one of your reasons that it’s impersonal and that you prefer to meet the hosts. And yet you don’t meet your guests.

You said:

But I am renting from the host and I want his words and mind. More personal for me.

Just wondering why you don’t offer the same services that you want when you’re a guest yourself.

Im engaged on the AirBnB message platform. In my experience my guest are the most engaged 2 weeks before arrival. I give them local tips, give them alot of infomormation about logistics and other things. It might seems contraring but thats the view.
The guesthouse “hosts” not that engaging. Just get the booking and direcion and I meet the “staff”.

Got it. It’s interesting to know that some guests are as happy (or even happier?) with online interaction rather than meeting the host in person.

That’s why I have a max of 7 days to stay in my home/B&B!

I’ve had many many guests who seem to prefer not to meet the host. I always used to meet the guest if I was home, now I read between the lines and judge that way. Many times I just open the door to say hi so they know I’m here and then read the body language about if they want more interaction.
