Service animals in Mexico

We are Mexican citizens, live in Mexico full-time and our Airbnb rental is located in Mexico. We have a “no pet” policy. Since Mexico has no laws against banning all animals, including service animals, from our rental, are we still required to accept service animals as per Airbnb policy?

Their sandpit, their terms and policies you agreed to….

Yes, you’re required to accept service animals as per Airbnb’s policy.

I live in Mexico, too and while I’ve never had anyone bring a service animal or even ask to, yes, if you want to use Airbnb, you have to abide by their policies.

The way the policy and some other Airbnb policies read, if something is prohibited by law, you have to follow your local law. For instance, although Airbnb dropped the requirement to accept Emotional Support animals (which aren’t service animals), in California and New York, the law says you have to accept them, so hosts in those places must.

Unless Mexico had a law saying people with service animals could not force an establishment to accept their service animal, which as far as I know it doesn’t (there just isn’t any law saying anyone has to), you have to follow Airbnb policy.
