I would like to automate a message when a guest requests a reservation. I see 3 presets:
Booking
Check-In
Check out
I would like the guest when requesting a reservation to receive a message from us. Is this possible within the airbnb app, or is this something offered by 3rd party developers?
I’m only aware of the “pre-reservation” message that we can set up (I believe with a very limited character count) where you can list some important information or requirements.
We’re just resorting to letting people make a reservation and use the “booking” message to ask for all the required personal information to maintain the reservation or asking them to cancel which is penalty free within 48 hours. During that time frame I’m on their a$$ in case they fail to respond via Airbnb chat, using text messages or phone calls if necessary to get their butts moving. We require certain information upfront (also legally in France) and this is clearly stated in the listing but as we know - people don’t read so we have to babysit certain guests once they booked. Rarely, they cancel in case they don’t want to share personal information but overall they are understanding but lazy.
I think you can do it with OwnerRez, a channel manager. But you have to pay for it and do a lot of extra work in addition to just sending those messages.
Airbnb’s built-in messaging is pretty limited. You can’t trigger a message specifically on a reservation request. Those presets are only for confirmed bookings. To do what you want, you’d probably need to use a third-party tool that integrates with Airbnb’s API. There are a few out there that let you set up custom triggers based on different events.
