I received a notice on my dashboard stating that Airbnb will begin paying the Transient Occupancy Taxes for reservations made after August 1. I’m delighted. It’s a raise for me, plus I don’t have to file the monthly return. I think that Airbnb is doing this because the City of Los Angeles is considering proposals to limit the number of days per year that a host will be allowed to host. The number of days being considered ranges from 90 to 180. I’m sure that seeing all the money come in will make the Los Angeles City Council members think long and hard before imposing these limits.
