I’m pretty shocked at that price. Is Russia expensive in general to travel to?
To the OP, since you asked for feedback, what’s with these summer rates? That’s more expensive than some of our hotels here in Hawaii right on the water.

Actually for Saint Petersburg there is a little loophole and you can arrive and leave on a ferry from Helsinki and get a visa free for 72 hours.

Winter in Saint Petersburg is much different than winter in Siberia which is different than winter in Sochi.

Yes, my wife and I have been wanting to go to Russia and specifically St. Petersburg. It’s supposed to be very beautiful! But you do have to plan way in advance to get a visa.
First, don’t believe all the negative media about Russia. Second, it’s a good thing for us that many foreigners traveling to the USA don’t punish us by not coming because of what our government says and does.

back…seems I was blocked for 22 hours…too many messages for a new member ;)…anyway the price is normally around 35/45 USD in winter and around 80/100 for Summer - but next year is the FIFA WOLRD CUP in St Petersburg so the prices have gone a bit crazy for all over the city (double or more)- however its just for a few dates when the games are being played…do come to Russia - friendly people and life is cheap…good food too - winter is cold and snowy, and summer hot and the white nights (museums open all night too…romantic evening walks, ballet, etc)…depends what you are into )…thanks for everyone for your messages and helpful advice - definitely taking everything on board and removing photos and adding a bed photo )…hope its solved the problem on pricing )…

I just think people are generally friendly and welcoming no matter where you travel in the world and they should not be penalized for how their governments behave.
