Rule violation help

i never know how this expression came to be. You can never own a cat. The cat owns you. You can own dogs and any other pets but not cats.

@Ritz3 the cats might also pee on something if they are scared or furious. One cat peed on me while giving her a shower. ANother peed on my boyfriend’s shoes God knows why, perhaps out of jealousy?

@jaquo, I am sure your cats are the bestest cats ever. I would still say no, and I have many times for dogs as well. I love dogs, and your cats, (lol) but I do not allow them in my 1938 cabin, I have wood floors and nice rugs…

As I type I am at an Airbnb for a week and we have the dog:) He has already leaked a bit indoors! He is a nervous pisser, a rescue who came from abuse I think. Thankfully he was on a hard floor so no harm no foul. I am managing him well, and there is a doggie door to a secure backyard:)

The thing is, all of us who love our pets know that accidents happen. In my experience with dogs they almost always want to pee in new places! And my aversion to cats in part stems from a tom who jumped in my work truck 20 years ago and it took MONTHS to get the smell out. I just cannot deal with cat pee.

I am opening up my new listing hopefully by Labor Day, it will be dog friendly with safe outdoor space. I am putting in Vinyl floors, furniture with tall legs that can be washed, rugs that can be washed… I know I am missing out on some rentals because of my policy so on this one I will give it a try.

will dogs chew them? I can’t say I hate dogs but… cats lick themselves and are always clean. dogs need baths. if you get a lazy guest with a stinking dog, your place will smell worse than indian cooking. i had a regular tenant who had 2 illegal dogs, large breed, God knows what they were. they destroyed two french doors. they chewed on the wood and scratched my hardwood floors with their paws. it’s just terrible. i personally don’t allow pets, any pets. I love my cats to pieces but when I travel I have people take care of them. who knows, if I allowed pets Id get a ton of dog people and who knows what else, ostriches, alligators, monkeys?

but then why my renter’s dogs chewed the wood holding the glass panels on my french doors? they also damaged the bottom portion of the door with their claws. it looked like it’s been carved.
