I just assumed that they wouldn’t be interested in booking the 2nd connecting night. I’ve messaged to clarify that their booking will require a two night reservation. I’ll see how they respond.

I’d send a “special offer” that covered the night before but at a rate of about 1.5 days, not 2. Them checking out so “early” would make it possible for me to open the next day for rental rather than blocking it.
Note, this is a very general answer that applies to my rental room only. Lots of people don’t run their Airbnb the way I do and would need to charge for the full night before.
That sounds like a good approach.
