I’m looking for options for primary insurers on my home where I rent out a room on Airbnb on a fairly regular basis. I’ve read about multiple situations where simply asking your normal insurer will get your policy cancelled.
Where are you? If you are in the United States call Scott Roberts at TRC Insurance 425-786-9740.
With a sharing situation you are in the bed-and-breakfast category. Being in business less than 3 years the only option I found was the specialty market, in this case, Lloyd’s of London. All agents offered the same policy, but I enjoyed working with Scott the most.
Please tell him the “Comfy Cozy” sent you.
CBIZ will insure you
Ok digging up a post that’s one day off a year old?!?! Come on, this is not the best practice at all @cs2015
Zandra you are cruel to mock me.I told you I don’t have a smartphone! I’m on a desktop pc.
As you’re a moderator I doubt I have to tell you this but necroing very old threads causes confusion.
your desktop will tell you how old a thread is, you can actually see more detail on your desktop than I can see on my smartphone!
Hey all! Before this gets TOO nasty I did get in touch with Scott back in the day, but they don’t do California and I need someone registered in state to cover (apart from a house with an airbnb room) earthquake eventualities. Thanks for the heads-up though. Take care.
A.
lol don’t worry, I like @cs2015 but wish she’d stop resurrecting all these dead threads.
OTOH lots of people object to a new thread being started on a topic that has already been covered.
If it’s recent sure, that’s an understandable. I’m not sure a thread, started in December 2015 (and here we are on 30 November 2016) needs digging up from the grave. (And I exclude mega threads started a while back but regularly updated)
There’s been a number of occasions recently where I have responded to threads thinking they’re current… and they really weren’t. In some instances the threads had been started by people no longer even active. On another thread @cs2015 resurrected a fellow forum member confessed they couldn’t even remember what it was about anymore and also found the resurrecting of very old threads confusing.
It’s odd for sure but there are many idiosyncrasies about this forum and several oddballs who post. It’s all part of the charm.
Lol. I’ll count myself as an oddball.
I’m with Zandra on this one. By all means go back through and read old threads if you are interested but there is no need to comment on them and surface them to everyone else as a recent topic… If you are using a laptop/PC the date of the last update is clearly visible. You even get a little pop up asking if you want to revive the old thread…
