However, it no longer shows the price breakdown. I have to toggle the number of guests & days to see if there is an extra guest fee or a cleaning fee. I am curious if it shows the price breakdown after booking.
I don’t think the extra guest fee is clearly displayed anywhere on the listing now unless the host manually writes it into the description. Hopefully obscuring the extra guest fee won’t make it harder to enforce collecting when guests try to sneak in extra people.
Yes, I noticed and posted about the same a week or two ago.
The extra-person fees not showing are a problem for me, too. A good number of our guests bring more (or sometimes fewer) guests than they booked for.
So I’ve decided one of my first communications with them after booking will mention the extra-person fees. That should prevent unpleasant surprises and give them time to cancel if they aren’t comfortable with those fees (we’re on Strict).
(Before everyone jumps in and says they’ll just sneak the extra people in, we have a staffed villa and our housekeeper meets all our guests and confirms the number of guests.)
This is a little off, but just wanted to say I’ve been using Air as a guest starting about 10 years ago. Stayed in about 25 places, mostly by myself, but sometimes with friends.
I’ve noticed rental rates in areas I’ve gone to multiple times are now more than I want to pay. Between the daily rate/cleaning/Air fees what starts as $100 per night becomes $120. What I used to find for $75 per night doesn’t exist.
I’m no longer hosting and now doubt I’ll be using Air as a guest. It was great while it lasted, but now doesn’t fit the budget.
