Prices "adjusted" when Smart Pricing turned off

Shortly after making a manual price change to both our listings, I’ve logged in the past two mornings to find that the prices I set were DROPPED by a few dollars, even after I manually corrected the dropped prices the first day. I have never used Smart Pricing, and checked the switch to confirm it was still set at OFF (which it was).

Is this happening to anyone else recently (I see there was a spate of this a few years ago)?

Footnote and slightly beside the point:
Although I began my phone call to Superhost support with the words “Even though I have Smart Pricing turned off…” the follow up “solution” e-mail began "You’re using Smart Pricing for…
There must be a “sigh” emoji, but I just can’t be bothered

 This is about the closest I can find for a “sigh” emoji.

I have read of this happening to other hosts.

As for “support”, it’s like they can only hear keywords like “SmartPricing” and ignore the other words like “I have never used” or “I made sure it was turned off”.

I copied an exchange I had with Airbnb CS a couple years ago, because they were so unbelievably dense. All I was asking was a general question about why they don’t separate the individual jurisdictional taxes instead of lumping them all together and calling them “Occupancy taxes”.
I got sent links to entering my tax information (which I had done 2 years earlier), told to enter my tax numbers, had them take the exchange off-platform to email because I was supposedly asking for “sensitive personal tax information”, received information as to why taxes were being charged, and went through 6 agents before one finally understood my question.
I must have replied at least 5 times that “I DO NOT NEED HELP REGISTERING MY TAX INFORMATION! I AM NOT ASKING FOR AN EXPLANATION OF THE TAXES THAT ARE BEING CHARGED!”
