As a 60 year old lesbian my user experience in the USA has been sub optimal my entire life.

If I had a “rental place” as you do, a vacation home that I wasn’t living in full time, I wouldn’t have a political sign there. This is my one and only full time home and I rent out a guest suite. If I moved out and rented the entire home out I wouldn’t leave my signs up because it’s “my home.” I don’t put political signs inside the guest suite but I do have some buddhist imagery in there.

As someone in Scotland who has lived through a vicious independence referendum in 2014 that polarised our nation so badly the scars still hurt today, I avoid any mention of politics, displaying any flags etc. But this is an entire rental, and not my home. (Not that I have any political signs at home either - I’m so fed up with the ‘us good them bad’ mentality).

I appreciate everyone’s input. I never want to be in an echo chamber and this is a great forum for preventing that.
