Petty thievery, and I don't know who did it

As a coffee drinker, that sentence baffles me. I mean, it’s like the phrase “leftover wine,” I don’t understand! :wink: :wine_glass:

I agree. They drank the first pot, then made another and let that get cold. Threw it out the next morning and made fresh coffee. What I don’t think they realized is that our coffeemaker does not “cook” the coffee to keep it warm - it’s an insulated carafe that keeps it warm for a few hours. So, although the coffee was cold, it was not sludge.

I have a similar coffee maker. It’s a double walled stainless pot/carafe and I’ve drunk the coffee the next day - not great, but not bad. I also like that it has an automatic shut-off once the coffee is brewed so I’m not worried about someone leaving it on for 5 hours.

It all evens out in the end. As a good friend once said, “When we die, we all owe each other $150.” About sums it up.
