Our guests are being charged Occupancy Taxes - General Sales and Use Tax for State, County, and Local. It amounts to $24 per reservation. The THING is we are on the Navajo Indian Reservation. We, nor are guests, are responsible for such taxes. WE HAVE contacted Airbnb regarding this issue. TWICE. They state it has been sent further up the chain. In the meantime we feel it has the potential to harm our reservations.
Advice?
Airbnb doesn’t like bad publicity so try posting on their twitter or facebook accounts. Keep contacting them. I know it’s annoying but you don’t have any other choice.
Yes, you should be exempt! Definitely keep escalating until you get a supervisor.
