I routinely snoop on the competition for their rates & how far in advance they are booking. Occasionally if they have really effective wording, I’ll borrow that too.
This is a real listing for entire condo at $44 a night!
I am shocked.
Is this kind of craziness common? Have I missed it?
The pics are beyond messy; it is nasty. No description. Host has no profile. He actually had a booking that he cancelled!
I can see it- and it’s hideous! These people have clearly not put in any effort whatsoever, i’d be amazed if someone booked. I can only see it listed for $101 a night though… (and they don’t charge a cleaning fee which made me lol)
I can see the listing, listed at $75/Night. It looks like it must be a joke.
In terms of bringing down pricing, I wonder if the algorithms take all the area listings into account or only the ones that have recently been booked. When I get those messages about how to get more bookings, or click on a day in the calendar with a light bulb, it tells me that people looked at my listings but booked one that cost on average X amount less.
The $44 a night occurred when I inquired pricing for a 1-week rental.
Part of what I find amazing is that he posted pics with the home in that condition. I wouldn’t let any one in and certainly wouldn’t post pics until it was clean.
The mess posting is gone. Interesting. I reported it to Airbnb for appearing unclean & unsafe two days ago. It appears they removed the listing in record time.
