Newbie host suffering with crazy guest! - HELP!

If there was a power failure and you were unable to fix it with a fuse or rocker switch, I wouldn’t be whinging about providing alternate power regardless of the time of night.

And I wouldn’t leave it all to a case manager either. A little diplomacy is called for here.

…or she is manually tripping the breakers in order to create a “fault” and reason for her to try and claim a refund. Does she have access to the consumer unit (breaker box)?

For future reference… I know it’s hard to let go of a reservation, but with this guest’s aggressiveness (i.e. demanding that you confirm her change to the reservation), I would have offered to allow her to cancel, and receive full refund (yes, even though I have the stricter cancellation policy for someone cancelling the day before they are scheduled to arrive). It’s not worth the, mess, hassle, damages and the inevitable bad review that a guest is going to post because you didn’t do what they wanted. That’s just my 2-cents based on almost 6-years as a host and SH.

That is a possibility. I once bought 240V-compatible phone charger from Amazon to take with me on a business trip. I was at a hotel in Shenzen the first time I plugged it in and I heard a pop in the hallway and lost electricity to my room. I looked out in the hallway and saw several other hotel guests looking out their doors, wondering why they lost electricity. Oops!

Get her re-homed now. There is no way I would have allowed her more than 48 hours under my roof based on initial communication and then her attitude from the minute she walked in the door.

Keep bugging Air. Keep all your communication with her on the platform. Tell them you don’t feel comfortable, that you want her removed and into another place.

Also, I don’t take reservations for more than 21 days. I don’t want them squatting and if they want long term, then we’ll do a lease.

Seriously, sorry you’re dealing with this, but make Air move her ASAP.
