In the past, I’ve been able to decline a reservation without telling the potential guest why. This time, I didn’t mind telling airbnb why, but the process is insisting that I tell the guest why! It seems to me that just invites them to argue about it. I’d much rather decline without explanation.

What soothing generic lie can I tell them?
Just tell them you dont think you would be a good fit. They cant really argue with your opinion and they cant review you.

Sounds to me as though they are protecting themselves against future discrimination charges.
