Mysterious pink stains

Probably some type of sex gel. I had a young couple ruin my new sheets. The stains didn’t come out and I had to donate them to the animal shelter.

Chlorine bleach has a chemical reaction with certain chemicals, most notably sunscreen and “brighteners” found in some laundry detergent, which makes the mixture turn bright pink.

All you need do is wash until you’re sure there’s no sunscreen left, then go back to bleaching or using or another stain remover. Good luck

Certain sunscreens also react to OxyClean and turn whites yellow.

Super bright white sheets, bras, tees, tops, etc, are treated with a solution that makes them look white. Once washed with bleach or OxyClean the surface treatment comes off and your whites look dingy. It’s a cost saver for the manufacturer who doesn’t have to pay for actually getting bright white fabric and it’s frustrating for the consumer.
