Left a positive review after a cursory glance around... now I regret it

I learned early on to never complete a review until after the space has been readied for the next guest.

What looks OK at first glance can turn into a nightmare turnover. The truth lies in the details…

I’m in the midwest- Kansas City, but kind of toward the edge of town. Everything is less expensive in the midwest!

Don’'t waste any more time even thinking about this. Just move on. It could have been so much worst.

You should have an outdoor and/or indoor camera. We have an indoor one, which we fully disclose in our listing. It hasn’t hurt our bookings or our ratings. But it’s been super helpful to us in both positive and negative ways. Meaning, we’ve discovered as many (more actually) positive things as we have negative.

Yikes, JonYork! Be careful! I don’t think that is legal to have an indoor camera! Even if you disclose it!???

I wonder if a lint roller would pick up the glitter.

So true. I check the place before the guests have even got to the end of the road. I realise that lots of hosts can’t do this because they aren’t on the spot. But it’s a must prior to leaving a review.

There are several people who have posted that they have them. You certainly can’t have them in private places like bedrooms or bathrooms. I wouldn’t mind one inside pointing toward the door but that’s it. I wouldn’t book a place that had a camera in a place like the kitchen or living area.

How can you tell? You posted that Dec and Jan bookings are down. When looking for every competitive advantage considering the role of the camera (or even no TV) might be worthwhile.
