Kudos to customer service

I received an email April 4 saying I was a Superhost. Today I booked a trip but I didn’t see the Superhost coupon when I went to pay, so I called c/s. The very nice lady explained that the email simply was telling me that I’d earned Superhost for that quarter, and that I’d need 2 more quarters before receiving the $100 coupon. After explaining this, she said that “since you’ve been a Superhost for so long, I’m going to ask my supervisor if we can give you the coupon now”. She then put me in hold for 2-3 minutes, and came back with the good news that the $100 coupon had been approved AND that I’d get another one after 2 more quarters!

With lots of negative comments about c/s, I thought this positive gesture should be noted.

From your description, it seems a $100 coupon is offered for being a Superhost three quarters in a row - but somehow you’re getting two $100 coupons for the same period!  Something weird here but perhaps a misunderstanding… It’s easy to offer promises.
Sounds like your call was answered by the supervisor’s future wife, and the Supervisor plays the Rabbit and the Santa of 2025. Good for you :hugs:

It takes 4 quarters in a row to earn the $100 coupon. I had 2 quarters in a row, but was confused when I received the email saying I was a Superhost.

If you’ve been a Superhost for “a long time”, you’ve never noticed that they send those emails every quarter when you maintain Superhost status? Seems odd that you were confused.

.
Really?

Really?

Exactly. It’s pretty clearly explained here:

I recall the notices coming once/year when you earned the reward … not quarterly. I’m pretty sure they haven’t always come quarterly.
But the main point of the post was a positive shout-out to customer service who often get maligned.

Just checked my mailbox and I get the Superhost notices every 3 months like clockwork.

Yes, I’ve gotten them every 3 months since 2017. I suppose they might end up in someone’s spam box, which I’ve always been surprised many people never check.
I check the spam box every time I check my inbox and have sometimes found important emails that got shuttled there and I delete the spam, so there’s never more than a couple of emails there, not a huge long list of them.
