Just received 14 cancellation emails from airbnb

I just received 14 cancellation emails from airbnb in the same minute.

“Hi Gary and Zack,
We’re reaching out with an update about reservation xxxxxxxxxxx. It looks like this reservation doesn’t follow our Terms of Service, which means that we aren’t able to support it. As a result, we’ve cancelled the reservation and refunded payment for it.
We appreciate your understanding and help preserving the integrity of the Airbnb marketplace.
Regards,
The Airbnb Team”

Is this a hack or something? I can’t find details of the bookings with the reservation code.

@Gary_Woohoo

The obvious thing to do is to contact Airbnb. They should be able to confirm or deny it. I suggest Twitter.

Sounds odd. I’d call Airbnb Customer Service.

Indeed call them now. I think they might still be in the Dublin time zone, so a better service on offer! 14 bookings is a hell of a lot to lose, and then what if they turn up!? Good luck and keep us posted please.

Twitter is only good for escalating cases, not for opening them. I’ve had mixed results. My first twitter escalation gave me good results. This week, though, all they did was refer it back to the unhelpful case manager currently on the case. Worthless, as all that did was irritate the case manager.

But to Gary’s situation, I am really wondering if Air is not covering chargebacks or something now. Do you have a busy calendar? Or are you operating in a city that doesn’t allow it, and they are getting ready to shut you down?

With Airbnb, I rarely have what I would call good results. But at least the Twitter people respond. And for something this simple and concrete, they should be able to give an answer.

No,Faheem, they are just a customer service arm so they open a case for you.

Yes I am busy but I am starting to get a bit slow for Nov and Dec.

I’ve not noticed where the cancellations came from so have no idea which bookings.

Our city hasn’t changed rules as far as I know.

Are they all your forward bookings?
Are you still live on the site?
Have they closed you down?

I think you need to call them. I will take a look at your listing for you and I will try to scope out if there is anything I can see.
it could be that you have something required that they dont like at ABB.
And contact CS as others have advised.
Gary - I do see that you rent and “apartment”. Do you own the apartment? If no, does the owner allow you to sublet or lease it through ABB ?

Maybe it was the guest who did not meet Terms of Service, and it was cancelled to protect you. It is a hard communication to decipher.

Any updates on this? Sound scary.

No I own the property outright with no mortgage. Most of my bookings are still present.
I’ve not been able to call air bnb because I’m away from home just now but will check as soon as I get back.
Still don’t know which bookings airbnb have cancelled because I can’t pinpoint the booking reference numbers to my old emails and there are no ways for me to check with the airbnb app.
Here is my listing and I don’t see anything illegal or inaccurate about it http://abnb.me/EVmg/wx4DU8XNFG

The listing page should have the reference numbers in multiple places. They certainly do in the Messages section, which is where I normally look.

Resolved!
When you try and contact airbnb page it normally shows your recent bookings and whether you want to discuss them. Well it turned out one user had tried to book 14 times and air bnb automatically canceled them all. My understanding is that he might be a banned user or something. Who knows? ?
