Agreed. Fellow American here. I know I need to walk more.
Question—were they wearing heels?
A girls’ night out group made reservations at a snazzy/posh downtown restaurant. We all knew close-by parking was scarce and were prepared to walk a couple blocks; except one. She was not happy with walking far so we dropped her off.
I’ve heard other European hosts say this. But what you have to understand is that some guests might not think of that, or think it’s not okay. As a host who does use top sheets, if I stayed at a place that only had a duvet, which I found too hot, I wouldn’t feel okay about taking the duvet out of the cover- I would assume a host wouldn’t want me to do that, as then the duvet itself could get dirty.
Also, a duvet cover is like sleeping under 2 sheets, which may still be too hot.
Is it really so hard to buy a top sheet or two to have on hand for guests who are accustommed to them and would be more comfortable if they were provided one?
As you may have heard, the area inhabited by Americans, and by that you mean people from the US, is huge. It’s also diverse with everything from sparsely populated areas to densely populated ones. New York City folk walk all the time, suburbanites in Indianapolis not so much. People also walk less here there are extremes of weather like Chicago in winter and Las Vegas in summer.
