These hipster hotels aren’t my idea of “mid-priced.” I can stay at the Thunderbird for an August midweek stay for $200 a night or at my artist friend’s Airbnb in a 100 year old adobe home for $150 a night. (Marfa, TX)

At $150/night, Marfa has gotten way too trendy.

Yeah, and been that way awhile. I was there 10 years ago for a concert and folks like Lance Armstrong were coming in on their private jets. Beyonce had an instagram vacay there. I don’t know if it’s going to keep being a hipster mecca or not. It’s a bit out of the way and doesn’t have the things places like Santa Fe have going for them.
