I’ve become at peace with the location rating. I actually see it as a sign that I made a good business decision and here’s why: I know my location is 4 stars, possibly even 3. It’s in an urban up-and-coming (rapidly gentrifying, but not fast enough) district where homeless people roam outside–to be fair, they do right outside the Hyatt’s doorstep just up the road, but such is life in the heart of a capitol. When I told my friends and family that I was going to Air the property they said, “…are you sure that’ll work with the neighborhood?”
Anyway, back to business: to be a 5-star location in my city would require spending twice as much for a house. But those AirBnB’ing 5-star houses definitely aren’t getting twice as much money as I am… so guess who wins? I’ll take my 4 1/2 star location and walk it to the bank.
