How would you compensate LTR guest for reoccurring prowler/peeping Tom?

Good news. Plus glad we didn’t need to resort to a super soaker confrontation

All’s well that ends well. Curious what they ended up charging him with? Not that you should care, he’s out of your hair (and bushes) now. Yay.

I too wonder what they are charging him with! The detective emailed me in the wee hours of Saturday morning saying, " I’ll call you Monday and explain the process from here etc. "
We shall see. I wonder if I will have to go to court?

@Annet3176 , THAT would have been the highlight of my year! I mentioned this to several friends who got a real kick out of it. Not one of us has a super soaker but one of them has a Nerf Ball gun similar to this!

Good Times!

Awesome. He could be charged with trespassing, tampering with your lights (not sure what charge that would be- property mischief ?) nor what the official charge would be for intent to intimidate or scare people, if there is such a thing.

But now I’m really curious as to what the police will discover about him, if they even make that info available to you.

Me too. I think they will give me details so I’ll let you know if/when I do!

@yecatsr So happy to hear that the creep was caught!

If they use your video as evidence, you probably will. At the very least, he was trespassing on private property.

One of the police officers on the scene did a recorded phone interview with me asking very leading questions. For example, “How does it make you feel as a homeowner when you see this man repeatedly coming to your property”. I responded in kind to all of these questions. I wonder if it will be trespassing? They said something about that not being the case with him…something about people are frequently on the front porch/stoop doing deliveries and what not.

I’m anxious to see the charge! I bet you are correct about court. Not anxious to face this guy in court but of course I would go to make sure he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Stalking?..…………………………

That’s what I would think. A no-brainer, but since I’m the only one that sees it, and I’m not there, maybe they cannot make that stick? :woman_shrugging:

Delivery men don’t unscrew lightbulbs nor do they open their belts and hide in bushes. Maybe the police can’t add trespassing but they surely can add tampering with personal property and indecent exposure.

After speaking to the Detective on the case and getting spooked, they want to cancel the remainder of their stay. I need help on getting this accomplished - I created a new post for this, please help!

Just send them a refund through the resolution center for the remainder of their stay. However, your days will be blocked on your calendar unless the reservation is cancelled or you’re able to adjust the dates by making a change to the reservation.

Just curious, did your guests review you? Hopefully, there was no mention of the creppy guy.

Thanks for the update. It is interesting that they are having difficulty coming up with a charge. Did it end up being anyone who lives near you?

I recently just added a second one to the back of mine. Hated having a hose laid across the deck and patio in order to use the water where I needed it for my Doggy Doo Drain.

Consider yourself lucky then. Your police seem well resourced for the crime rate there. Most places are far less so.

I hope your area has a very low crime rate.

Hate that it happened Ed at all but so glad that is a major crime in your area and even more so that it ended with an arrest. Congrats!
