How many towels do you provide?

That’s an interesting observation. I provide robes but in my shared space. I got tired of seeing guests with a towel wrapped around themselves.

I believe I stated earlier how many towels I provide for my max of 2 guests but if I was a live-in host and only allowed one guest (as @J_Wang does), I would provide one mis-matched towel (as @J_Wang does), of a size small enough so it wouldn’t quite cover Mr. Hap…(hand clamped across mouth) no, I’m not going to say it and no one can force me!

But, yep, that’s what I would do.

In my defense, it’s been a long day in triple-degree temps and my brain is a little addled.

We’re having a heat wave too, 106F today and will be 111F Thursday.

Okay, I’ll take the lavender one and the one above the pink one, then I’m calling it a day.

Well, what the heck?! Is that a jar of Pond’s Cold Cream?! Geez…I might as well shmeer some of that on too.

Where in HELL :} are you?

Heck yeah! Then wipe off the excess with one of Zandra’s hand towels!!!

btw I always put on display all the leftover stuff people leave.

Oh that’s right…Zandra’s hand towels. Good answer! But I think she’s down to her last (and only) two.

(Oh no, I’m missing my Netflix show.)

When the guest is cute I think of it as a perk.

It’s not a bug; it’s a feature!

Thanks for pointing this out, Ellen. Having had short hair for such a long time I’d forgotten about the whole towel turban thing after showering. Your reminder cut short my grousing about two ladies who stayed last night and used four towels. :haircut_woman:

It depends on how long the guest(s) are staying- if over two days I supply another towel per person and if over a week I replace all linens etc. I don’t provide hand towels or face washers.

What do your guests use to dry their hands after they wash them?

Do you at least note that in your listing so that guests can bring their own? I’d be really weirded-out by not having something to dry my hands or wash myself with.

To dry hands my guest will have to use the main towelI. I used to provide hand towels and face washers but don’t now.
(I take my own face washer when travelling because I like to use a certain thickness, so I hope my guests do that too)
No one has commented about the lack however. They just have to ‘soldier’ on without one!!
I read (on this site I think) - about the f.w.being used to wash ‘private parts’ and it put me off providing them.

Someone providing me with a single bath towel and no hand towel would have me drying my hands on the body towel; the same one I used to dry private parts. That just seems to mean more private parts germs all over the rental. I don’t care as I’m not too picky but I don’t see any way that not providing a hand towel improves anyone’s guest experience.

Were you not going to wash them? I really don’t understand. If you wash them, what’s the difference? It’s a really funny idea

If you’re worried about germs, here’s what happens without a hand towel: I don’t use my bath towel to dry my hands, I shake my hands dry, lofting germs all about the room

@Lozette I would find it skimpy of a host not to provide a hand towel and a washcloth. And no, I wouldn’t travel with a washcloth- who wants to carry something wet around in their bags? But I do use one, so wouldn’t have anything to use for that at your place.
And I also don’t understand your reasoning- If a guest dries their private parts with the towel, don’t you wash the towel and give it the next guests? What’s the dif with the washcloth?
If a person uses one towel to dry their body and their hair, the towel usually ends up pretty wet. Now I’m expected to “dry” my hands on a wet towel?
And a lot of women use 2 bath towels, one for their hair and one for their body, which is what I provide. Often the second towel I find unused, still neatly folded on the shelf.

I can’t even imagine traveling with a wet dirty washcloth in my luggage. It has never even occurred to me to bring one with me.

I use a washcloth to scrub clean in the shower - and that would include “private parts”, yes. And then I would dry said private parts on the bath towel!

(I was going to ask, how else would you keep your “private parts” clean but decided, this is beyond the level of sharing I want from the forum, lol.)

A face cloth/ washer is used to wash not dry in my part of the world.
A towel is used to dry a wet, clean body or wet, clean hands. I leave a couple of extra towels in the bathroom and they’re frequently not used. My guests can request more as I live in the attached house.
Perhaps you are referring to a towel used after using a bidet perhaps? I’m not sure as to what people use for that - more paper perhaps, the air drying facility ?

I’m sorry I answered this topic actually.
You’re all welcome to set your places up as you choose and so have I.
My guests can ask for anything that I haven’t placed in the apartment and I would be quite happy to accomodate them.
