Our preparation team charges more for working on Sundays and Mondays. Is there a way to set a fee for arrivals on those days of the week?
Just raise your nightly price on those days of the week.
That just inflates the price on those days, and may not be a good answer, considering that it penalizes people who stay over a course of days that include those days.
Good point. I guess you would have to build in some logic into a PMS system’s automatic pricing module. So you might want to charge the guest departing or arriving on Sunday or Monday a PITA fee. This would work for direct bookings. Your PMS/rate manager module would have to be smart enough to detect a departure on Sunday for example, and after that reservation was booked, the Sunday arrival base price would bump up by your fee amount and be sent to the OTA(ABB). Still not perfect, but might work half the time.
I don’t see any fee setting that is per day. (AI said there isn’t a fee per DOW) Not many people need this I guess as no hotel systems I know of have a per day fee. You could pay a PMS software to make it for you. But it wouldn’t be able to push to airbnb (or any OTA) that doesn’t support a per day of week fee.
The cheap way is to put in your listing description/rules that there is an extra fee for arrivals/departures on Sunday and Monday that will be collected after booking.
OR, watch your calendar and whenever a reservation comes in that departs on Sunday/Monday, accept it and raise the base price for arrival dates that are problematic.
You can also just deny arrivals / departures on certain dates. This is supported by airbnb. At least I can do it from API connected PMS.
If using RTB, you could just inform requesting guest of the fee, and why it exists, and let them decide to change dates or pay the fee.
Interesting problem.
Is this a significant amount? Raising the cleaning fee overall, by a few dollars should cover this, I can imagine this Sunday or Monday event only happening once in a while.
