I share a phone number with them after I have confirmed the booking to be used “should any emergency maintenance issue arise during your stay or if you find anything doesn’t meet your expectations upon arrival. Otherwise, please continue to maintain all communication here on the (platform) app per their terms of service for our mutual protection.”

Any communications that (rarely) occur by text or phone are copy/pasted or otherwise documented within the app, too.

This should most definitely be reported on the messager system. I wouldn’t want that reported by any other means.

No internet service there and no cell service on most carriers. We have to make ourselves available by another means for emergencies, in case the door lock fails, etc.

I have it, but I never noticed it before @JJD mentioned it today. I suppose without checking this box, any guest can book, get your address, then cancel and it’s the same as checking the box that shows guests your exact location before booking.
